Workshop
Europe@DJHT
THE CIVICS Innovation Hub
In the run-up to the DJHT, young people are developing content for a ‘Toolbox for resilient democracies’. This aims to make populist & anti-democratic attitudes from different EU country contexts visible & to strengthen young people's future skills.
In preparation for the DJHT, THE CIVICS Innovation Hub is hosting an inspiring 2.5-day Design Thinking Workshop focused on developing innovative solutions to enhance democratic resilience among youth. Participants will have the opportunity to present their outcomes during this congress session.
What to expect:
- Explore insights from "civic deserts" in Central and Eastern Europe.
- Develop strategies to support youth in rural areas of Bulgaria, Croatia and Germany.
- Learn from previous NECE Lab participants about innovative approaches to youth engagement in democracies.
- Connect with peers, experts, and policymakers in youth and educational work.
This workshop aims to highlight the common challenges faced by young people in rural regions across Europe and to empower them to take active roles in their communities. Through the creative and open format of the NECE Lab, participants will not only strengthen their participation skills but also experience a sense of self-efficacy.
The developed solutions are designed to assist youth work professionals in countering populist and anti-democratic tendencies. In the long term, these materials are intended for use in transnational youth initiatives.
Join us and contribute to shaping a resilient, democratic future for Europe.
